Yes, I can see that, the dialect-heavy language. Accent alone doesn't come across in the written word unless you do something like variant spelling. (I like novels that invent a new language and force you into their way of thinking, Paul Kingsnorth's The Wake started out promisingly that way.)
I had a dyslexic Russian friend and I found her text messages a delight, the way she spelt English made me hear her speaking voice.
