There is a Russian notion- dostoevschina, not Dosoevsking, dear Vanechka. That you imagine yourself. I never would vulgarize the genius of Dostoevsky in any way, and you are not Saltykov-Shchedrin. Sorry for your pasquil' or lampoon. I thought that "Soaring Twenties" was an intellectual society, but it doesn't seem so.

STSC is a refuge.

Well the goal was to portray F.M. as unattainable genius and grotesquely satirise those who mindlessly try to reach him themselves. I wouldn’t piss on the wall myself obviously.

Thankfully all I write I imagine myself (when it’s not a translation). Very few of what I write is actually real. I am more than aware of dostoevschina but you have to know Russian to understand what that is. Being compared to Saltykov-Shchedrin is rather an honour.

The author shouldn't explain a goal.

thaanks! re: STSC, that's interesting—I checked and you're subscribed and no emails have bounced... confusing. I suggest checking if you're subscribed to certain sections.

Confusing, it is, but hardly new. There are several newsletters I don't get at all/get only sporadically.

I know my own so-called reach is 78% for months already. I wrote to them several times but to no avail. Not a big tragedy for the world no doubt but.

I'll check the Section thing-thanks!

And truly, leaving logistics aside for now-what a great read, Vanechka, to start the morning with!
